Guest guest
Good Morning, I am wondering if there is a good site to help one decipher the manufacturers abbreviations and help one to learn which of 50 lemon essential oils (for example) one would want to order. TIA Paige
Guest guest
Hi Paige There is only one type of lemon oil (citrus lemon) which is cold pressed from the skins but also available are lemon balm (melissa officianlis), lemon Eucalyptus (Euclayptus citriodora), lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus), lemon verbena (aloysia triphylla). I hope this is of help to you but unfortunately don't know of any good websites. Guest guest
Paige I have loads of aromatherapy books (and am very choosy of them too) seeing as there are now loads on the book shelves. The books I find useful and helpful are: The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Essential Oils by Julia Lawless, Encylopedia of Aromatherapy by Chrissie Wildwood Valerie Ann Worwoods books (all 3) Aromatherapy by Daniele Ryman I hope this is of help, if you need any more info just drop me a line privately. have fun Karen At 22:34 09/03/00 -0600, you wrote: > " Paige " <paige > >Thank you Karen, >Can you recommend a good book with this information. >Mine were not very thorough. >Paige
Guest guest
Dear Karen, Hi there! In your recent post to Paige you stated: >Karen Russell <karen >There is only one type of lemon oil (citrus lemon) which is cold pressed >from the skins but also available are lemon balm (melissa officianlis), lemon Eucalyptus (Euclayptus citriodora), lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus), lemon verbena (aloysia triphylla). > My question to you are you also referring to Lemon balm (melissa officianlis) and to the Eucalptusis as also Lemon oils? Because these are from different plants entirely. Lemon Balm is from the mint family and the Eucalyptusis, I believe, (I don't have my reference books at the computer) are from the Eucalyptus family which has over 300 different types of Eucalyptusis of which we only use a small segment. These may smell like lemon but they are not lemon. They are also distilled and not cold pressed. Thanks, Rhavda Emison <sos1
Guest guest
Hi Rhavda Paige was asking for advice on which lemon oil to purchase as there were so many. My understanding is that there is only 1 lemon oil as I've said previously but the other oils I stated do have lemon in their titles so it could mean that from the list that Paige was looking at included these. You are right in saying that the lemon balm is from melissa and the Eucalyptus oils are from the Euclayputus family. Sorry I have replied sooner as I have been on a La'Stone Therapy course. Best Wishes Karen
