Guest guest
Hi everyone My name is Anna. I joined this list a few months ago. I have been lurking for a while, but now I need some advice. Is there an essential oil or aromatherapy blend that I can use for panic attacks? Anna Cape Town
Guest guest
Hi Anna I made up a blend a while ago for a friend for panic/hysteria. He was beside himself over work issues and virtually couldn't function. He found it quite amazing and was so calm I was thinking he should stop using it and get some work done. <grin> Anyway here is what I made up for him. It could be that it was just right for him and not someone else, but worth a try. Check it out with a pendulum first. Jasmine 2 drops Neroli 4 drops Lavender 5 drops Marjoram 4 drops in 30ml of grapeseed carrier oil All the best Suzanna Perth, Western Australia ============================= Is there an essential oil or aromatherapy blend that I can use for panic attacks? Guest guest
Hi Anna, Try using the basics; Lavender, Mandarin, Tangerine, Neroli, Lemon...... maybe even Clary Sage. These oils are warm and loving and gentle. Put a couple drops on a cotton ball and keep inhaling. You could even use more earthy scents (for grounding you back into the present); pine, sandalwood, frankincense, cypress. These can help you put your feet back on terra firma helping you to calm your mind and think a bit more clearly. Putting essential oils on cotton balls also allows you to get up and walk/move while inhaling the essential oil. Also, may I suggest someone who is a good Hypnotherapist or NLP Practioner to help you past the panic/anxiety? Let us know what works for you! Lynn Los Angeles " Anna . Guest guest
Hello, Anna wrote, " My name is Anna. I joined this list a few months ago. " Here are some oils that I have used for anxiety: bergamot birch* blue tansy fir* frankincense juniper berry lavender lemon mandarin melissa myrrh neroli orange patchouly Roman chamomile rose rosemary* rosewood sandalwood* spruce tangerine thyme* ylang ylang (* denotes oils for panic, all others I have used for anxiety and panic) As you can see, there are a lot to choose from (and probably several others I haven't experimented with). I have found a mixture of bergamot, lemon, mandarin, rose, and ylang ylang very effective. I find the best way to mix the oils (if everyone involved is willing) is to have the client smell the oils and rate their pleasantness. I then mix them according to how well they are received by the client ie., if they enjoyed rose the most, followed by bergamot mandarin, ylang ylang and then lemon, I would mix them with 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, drops respectively. Thanks, Les
