Guest guest
This week, we will be talking about Grapefruit. You can add anything you want about this oil. I'm just putting down some basics. Let's Talk About...Grapefruit Latin Name: Citrus paradisi Extracted The peel by expression and separation (cold pressed). Low quality oils may have fractions of juice added to extend it. Decription: A yellow to greenish fluid with the characteristic fresh grapefruit fragrance. Some oils have crisp, fresh notes while others have more fruity and smooth notes. Safety: Mild photosensitivity Uses: Stimulating Anti-depressant Can lift lethargic states. Excellent for stimulating self-esteem In skin care for cellulite, acne. Mixes well with all Citrus oil and lavender

Also Sweet Orange is not particularly photosensitive, but be careful of all other citrus oils? For my own use, this is not a problem - I avoid the sun. >Uses: Stimulating >Anti-depressant >Can lift lethargic states. >Excellent for stimulating self-esteem >In skin care for cellulite, acne. One of my favourite oils for my bath in the morning, together with Rosemary, for perking me up for the day. Also diffused in a spray bottle in my office for a pleasant, uplifting scent. >Mixes well with all Citrus oil and lavender Moira de Swardt
Guest guest
Hello, Here's my two cents... " Action: Antiseptic, disinfecting, detoxifying, diuretic. Like many cold-pressed citrus oils, it has unique fat-dissolving characteristics. It is exceptionally cleansing for oily skin. Psychologically, it is antidepressant and emotionally uplifting. Other Uses: Grapefruit oil may help with depression, drug withdrawal, eating disorders, fatigue, jet lag, liver disorders, migraine headaches, pre-menstrual tension, and stress. It may also have a cleansing effect on the kidneys, the lymphatic system and the vascular system. Indications: Helps with acne, cellulite, digestion and fluid retention. Applications: Diffuse and apply topically. Add to food or water as a dietary supplement or flavoring. Grapefruit is not photosensitizing unlike other oils with furocoumarins. " The above is quoted from " PDR _ Peoples's Desk Reference for Essential Oils " (available from ESP 1-800-336-6308) I have always found Grapefruit to be a refreshing and uplifting oil, my daughter's favorite essentence to wear!
