I think that when you use essential oils for non-physical effects, you only need

to

use one drop at a time. You could put it with one drop of clary sage to give

you

clarity. Use it (or the combination) in a bath, inhale it, put it in a little

massage oil for the body, put in on a tissue to have by your pillow when you

sleep,

or vapourise it while you meditate on your problem or issue. A good book on the

subject is 'Subtle Aromatherapy' by Patricia Davis, published by CW Daniel.

Have fun!

Botanical names change frequently, as the taxonomic knowledge base builds,

or more legitimate use of the plant is discovered (just a few of the

reasons). We recently had a bit on my group about how the Daturas name

evolved into Brugmansias for the " Angel Trumpets " , leaving Datura for the

" Devil's Trumpets " (orientation of the angle of the flower :-)

Guess everybody knows Gardenia jasminoides is now Gardenia augusta, yes?

Anybody remember when the Lamiaceae was the Labiatae? Guess the taxonomists

decided that the growth habit of the family (devouring land) was more apt

than the lip on the flower, LOL.

I'd guess the Frankencense change was to reflect that variety was the one

most used in sacred rituals, and perhaps carterii was the scientist who

first discovered it, and they figured the use was more important to

indicate. I agree.

Excellent information on Somali Frankincense. For those that would

like more detail on frankincense and Myrrh there is the small book

written by Wanda Sellar and myself. I don't sell it direct now but

ordering details are on my web site. It can be ordered in the USA.

For those interested this book is excellent.. I would recommend it

to all desiring knowledge about either or both of these, Frankincense and

Myrrh.
