Frankincense

Hello everyone

I was also getting withdrawal symptoms! So glad the list is back, and I'm

pleased

to have the discussion of a particular oil re-introduced.

Frankincense: also Boswellia sacra

It's brilliant in skin preparations as it smooths out wrinkles. There don't

appear

to be any contraindications when used correctly, it's even safe (in half dose)

in

pregnancy. It slows and deepens the breathing which is why it's traditionally

always been used in religious practices, and is good for asthmatics and

deep-seated

respiratory complaints. Would be good during labour too. Also for

genito-urinary

disorders.

Non physically, frankincense relates to the crown chakra, facilitating spiritual

work such as prayer and meditation, especially combined with neroli. It also

corresponds with the Bach Flower Remedy Walnut, which is used to help you

through

times of change. I often use frankincense for people who are going through such

a

change (eg change of job, divorce, moving house, puberty, menopause). It can

also

give a gentle kick up the backside to get you moving - ease of passage, you

could

say.

Hi Helen!

I'm interested in using frankincense to give me that proverbial kick in the

rear... what's your recommendation, how many drops, in combination with

anything else? I'm too new at aromatherapy to go galloping off on my own,

so any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Lynn

I have a blend I make with Frankincense, Patchouli & Lavender. It is

heavenly. I use it in the bath and in a diffuser.

Thank you all for sharing the information on this oil. It is always good to

refresh my memory. <G>
