Guest guest
Dear Melanie, I've looked this up in my PDR (People's Desk Reference for Essential Oils). It is written from a Naturopathic approach. Here's some clips regarding Insomnia. " Ingestion causes gas, and toxins in the intestines and the liver will produce insomnia, frequent recurring migraine headaches, skin eruptions, discoloration, change in pigmentation, acne, and bumpy skin. A colon and liver cleanse may be required. " " Single Oils: * Lavender with Roman chamomile, marjoram, myrtle, German chamomile, ravensara, basil, ylang ylang, tangerine, bergamot, mandarin, orange or valerian. * Cypress with marjoram, lavender, basil, geranium, rosemary, clary sage, German chamomile, rosewood, or angelica. Use: Add 1-3 drops to the corresponding single oils above (according to your sensitivity). Lavender with Roman chamomile is excellent for insomnia. Lavender with marjoram diffused in the bedroom aids in reducing restlessness and insomnia. Use these oils on the bottoms of feet with gentle massage action. " " " " " Also, my intuition says that maybe keeping a dream journal (or any kind of journal) to allow feelings and thoughts to flow freely, without restriction, may be a good tool to vent whatever is nagging your consciousness. Also, maybe a good session with a Hypnotherapist who uses suggestions that can allow your mind to vent life's ups and downs through dreams so that you are not caught in the frustration that comes with insomnia. Wishing you well in all ways, Lynn Los Angeles Melanie Booth [melanie] Wednesday, February 16, 2000 8:34 AM " Melanie Booth " <melanie I'm sorry to return to the problem of insomnia again, but I need some advice please! It's been mentioned to me and also via here, that after you've been using the oils for so long, it is best or good to have a break of about a week. The thing is, with sleeping still a bit unsettled, I am presently using the oils on a daily basis, though I keep changing the blends around, and sometimes it might only be a small amount on my temples/forehead/underneath nose. To get to the point, I'm wanting to know just how vital it is to have this break, I mean, it's not damaging to my body and insides to keep putting the oils into my bloodstream, without a break is it? Sorry to go on about this, but obviously, I don't want to be in danger in this way, (if I am in danger, that is) Thanks to all who can help me with this. All the Best Melanie
