I guess the client's back should be at your waist height or just below, for maximum comfort and ease of massage. You need to consciously remember to bend your knees rather than your waist as much as possible. You could also sit on a stool for the head and feet movements. The thing is though, that larger people are " thicker " , so the very best thing is to get a couch that is height adjustable. Then if you have a large client, you can drop the couch a notch. I agree with what Linda P was saying about cleansing yourself afterwards too. Just a couple of lungfuls of fresh air, or a glass of water would help. Jonas and his Qigong is perfect. I think if you're in a class, there is all sorts of energy buzzing around, so good ventilation is important, and get outside between sessions.
