Guest guest
I wondered if any one could help...Im doing a lot of case histories towards my final exam and and like many other therapists out there I dont often get the chance/pleasure to be on the receiving end of an Aromatherapy treatment back and Im noticing that even with the aid of my newish trusty couch tailored to my height, I still get back and neckache...I have discussed this problem with my tutor and she checked the way I stand and said I stand fine...so what am I doing wrong? Maybe the wrong type of shoe height or maybe its working at the college on a different height couch every week? I would like to enjoy treating my clients not dread the agony afterwards!! Any advice suggestions would be very appreciated!! Emily Emily Hawkes http://www.shamleyuk.freeserve.co.uk
Guest guest
Hi Emily, I have a table that is adjustable. even with the advantage I still get back aches. I believe it is because of the way 'stand in one position for so long' that the muscles just get tired. sometimes we get so involved in the work that we forget about our bodies and stand off just enough to effect us and our work. The constant changing of heights can cause distress in our own bodies lessening the good we can do for others. Is your table portable? If so see if you can use it at school - it might make it easier on you. Are you working on a concrete floor? Padded rugs? But then there is another question that should supercede all others - do you cleanse yourself after each session? Do you 'own/claim' what you worked on in the person you just had a session with (matching pictures?) as always these are just my thoughts, Amwandi, Linda Emily wrote: >.... Guest guest
Hello Emily, This may sound weird, but do you use a real sturdy sport type bra? Something to support your upper torso. Also, you might be straining your own neck with however you are using your arms to apply massage techniques. I had to learn to do things a bit different from how I was taught because of my shortness (next life...... oh, for some height!). let us know what you learn through this please. Happy Healing! Guest guest
Emily I don't know what to say about this. I've never experienced this problem myself, I know its hard to find the right height couch at college. Could it be the size of your clients?? Sorry to put it this way but didn't know which way was best. I'll be happy to swap treatments with you, I live in Hertfordshire but don't know where you are. Guest guest
--- Linda Partsch <linpart wrote: > another question that should supercede all others - do > you cleanse > yourself after each session? Do you 'own/claim' what you > worked on in > the person you just had a session with (matching > pictures?) Good call, Linda. You are thinking of energy flow and consciousness. I was thinking along similar lines. For any kind of bodywork, IME, you need to keep open a clera energy flow from the Source of Universal Energy (whatever way you conceive of It) through you to the other person, without blocking it along the way. I was going to suggest a little Qigong because it's easy to get started learning it, and it trains you for handling energy. The basic Qigong stance with slightly bent knees seems to have been adopted by all kinds of bodywork practitioners and energy healers. When you first look at it, you may wonder how you could hold that for very long without getting fatigued. But once you learn to get that qi flowing, it becomes easy. Qigong is a very gentle art that integrates breathing with the energy flow just like yoga. ===== menuo sauluZe vede pirma pavasareli The Moon married the Sun In the first springtime Talk to your friends online with Messenger. http://im. Guest guest
Puts a whole new slant to thinking that we can trust " the other side " !!!!!! Even there we're vulnerable to everyone's Divine sense of humour! Clearly I needed to learn to get over myself!!! Thanks for the fun!
