Guest guest
Hello the list..! I'am reading this list for a couple of months and didn't introduce myself ...english is not my first language!.. I'm french living in britain (france), interested in EO since more then ten years I use them for me and my family's current care. I specially love (I apologise for the latin names !) : *Lavandula Vera, ( for wounds , in bath, massage, vaporizing, two drop on pillow before sleep) *Citrus limon, (for domestic house cleaning i mix with soap, vaporize, take a few drops internal with honey for cold or stomac ache) *Cloves, bactericide, for stimulation (one drop with milk 3 times a day during 10days and stop), stomato.., *Eucapyptus Radiata, vaporize for air cleaning in winter *Juniperus Communis (the bay) (3 drops in 1teespoon honey or on brown sugar 3times a day for diuretic effect, when necessary *Cypressus, for my legs ( bath or massage) *Artemisia dracunculus (Tarragon) 5 drops on sugar one time against hiccough Againt bronchitis I tried *Thymus, one time, internally but my stomac didn't like it ! and i void using it even on skin, I only used the rest in housecare (the same for *Satureja) For the Fragance I like White Santal, Cinnamon, Orange, Camomilla, Rose too expensif but wonderfull againt bad mood !!!) Here, at the time, only a few people are using EO..i didn't find a french speaking AromaList, but i find that American people come, making tour in France and visite our distillation places...:-))) For a long time use, I only use externally I think that some specific oils, very pure are very efficient in internal use for a short time. One should use only the best oils and really know wich oil and for wich purpose like we do with medecines. One time, I got Citrus Oil wich was not best quality and coul'nt use it internaly. May be it's for that reason, and because many oils are efficient in external use, that most of the books tell you shouldn't take internally. Well, I hope you may understand my writing.. ;-)) All my best wishes for Chrismas and the New Year ! Catherine
Guest guest
I guess too much of anything can kill you, even water! The difference between EO and extracts are the concentrations. The EO is a very high concentration of the compound. Taking internally can cause an over dose. When used as a topical or inhalation application the amount of absorption is small compared to taken directly internally. Extracts appear to be diluted and are used in cooking. Have a great day!
