Guest guest
Dear List members, I have been reading the messages about insomnia and do know that aromatherapy may not be the best thing for everyone. You may need to try a combination. Though I do not have insomnia, I do have trouble falling asleep from time to time. I have posted a copy of Dr.Weil's breathing techniques which I have used to fall asleep and it really works. It also helps for anxiety and relaxation. You can use this in combination with your EO's. I have only posted the important parts but please check out the whole article on his website. Hope this helps Tracy " Although you can do the exercise in any position, to learn it I suggest you do it seated with your back straight. Place the tip of your tongue against the ridge of tissue just behind your upper front teeth, and " keep it there through the entire exercise. You will be exhaling through your mouth around your tongue; try pursing your lips slightly if this seems awkward. First exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound. Next close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of four. Next hold your breath for a count of seven. Then exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound to a count of eight. This is one breath. Now inhale again and repeat the cycle three more times for a total of four breaths. Note that you always inhale quietly through your nose and exhale audibly through your mouth. The tip of your tongue stays in position the whole time. Exhalation takes twice as long as inhalation. The absolute time you spend on each phase is not important; the ratio of 4:7:8 is important. " Taken from Dr.Weil's database. for more info: http://www.pathfinder.com/drweil/database/display/0,1412,100,00.html
Guest guest
I do a self healing tape meditation every night before going to sleep. I'm usually out in minutes. Have a great day! Light & Love John O'Toole,, Boston Area
