Guest guest
Nancy, The teleclass format is a telephone bridge that everybody calls into and when the first two people call in at the same time it opens it up and then everybody is on the call at one time. Each instructor has their own agenda. The call is a long distance charge. I am on One Rate so I pay .7c a minute and the calls usually last 55-60 min. So I pay around $4 a call. I love the teleclass format. I don't have to go any where, find parking etc. and I can do it in my nightie! I have been taking classes like this for a couple of years. I do not know this particular instructor, but I just wanted to put that out there for any one that may be drawn to it. Look at the website...teleclass.com. GO down to the bottom of the page and tap view all classes and you can see what all they have to offer. If I offended any body by doing that I apologize. (You were right Tracy!) I will be on the teleclass and will pass on any good information later. Guest guest
Just so some are spared a bit of time, the telecast is " closed " (which I'll presume is " full " )?? I look forward to hearing Sheri's report about what she learned! Must say it is a great concept. Does anyone know how or how much money it costs to have a " bridged " phone? Thanks in advance, Susan
Guest guest
Thanks Sheri -- I'm checking it out. These classes look interesting -- and there's quite a few different topics to choose from. Thanks for the info. For future references, could someone please tell me how to find out more about the teleclass. Being a newbee sounds like something I would be interested in. Does anyone know how or how much money it costs to have a " bridged " phone? ======================== Hi Susan (and everyone) There are companies that provide these conference call facilities so in a sense there isn't such a thing as a " bridged " phone that you need to buy. I only know because I'm starting to do computer training in this manner using a company called ConferTel in Australia. You just use your normal phone. In one method, you are given a number to dial and a pin number to get into that particular conference call when you book the course. The instructor is waiting for you and will welcome each person and off you all go. The method I am using is where the company calls each person, explains what's going on and puts them on hold for a maximum of a couple of minutes. When they've got everyone, they bring the instructor into the call and do a roll call so everyone knows who's there. Then the instructor takes over. It's really groovy. In the first method you pay only the cost of the call from your place to the teleconferencing company. In the other method the call cost is built into the course cost. Have a thrilling day.
