Guest guest
Dear list, I am on this list since a while, but was unable to introduce myself, due to a very busy work sheme at this moment. My name is Michel Vanhove, I live and work in Belgium, Europe. I am involved with aromatherapy since a long moment now, intensively since 1984/85. I lived some years in France before, in the Haute Provence, close to distillers and people cultivating organic food and herbs. This enabled me to have plenty of direct contacts with distillers and to have a good idea of their work, problems and hope for the future. I actually give two courses a week plus a lecture. My courses are mostly directed to herbalists here. I actually work with about 180 essential oils. I own a health shop together with my wife Hilde since 15 years now, but need to find another location at this very moment, due to an expropriation since the road will be enlarged. (give us a lot of work and unsolicited stress) I believe in ecology, ethical trading and true exchanges, that's exactly the reason why I am here. I hope to be able to participate in a positive way on this list. I might sound very serious sometimes (not surprising when the health of people is on stake), but like a good joke from time to time! My native language is Dutch, but I also speak German, French and enough English to exchange ideas. :-) Regards, Michel " Saepe rudes tantum facit ostentatio doctos Saepius haec rudibus nomina magna dedit. Guest guest
(Translation: Hi there Michel. I am Moira de Swardt from Johannesburg, South Africa. I presume that you also speak Flemish? If you would like to write [to me] personally in Flemish, I (and a few others, like Helen) will be able to understand. Welcome and greetings). Moira de Swardt Using all God's resources. Yes, I understand your language, Flemish and Dutch language ar practically the same, with some accent and cultural differences. Did you know that most of the Dutch famous painters and even intelectuals , just before the " golden age " of the Netherlands came from Flanders, as a result of the religious persecution from the Spanish rulers? From the very rich Flemish city of Antwerp with a population at that moment around 80000, 40000 left with their knowledge and money mainly to Amsterdam. Your language reminds me of our language of the past. South Africa is the birthplace of the geraniums and probably of plenty other nice herbs. I had contact with someone with plans to start a distillation project in your country. I hope she will manage to do so.
