Guest guest
Hello, My name is Stacey and I have been interested in aromatherapy for many years. Remember going to the gift shop and seeing the little drams of oils all spread out, and you had to test every one of them on your arm, your leg, your neck, everywhere??? That was me! I have been purchasing oils and self-educating for years, then finally at the beginning of '99 got my Certified Aromatherapy Practitioner certificate. I live in the middle of north-central Florida, where everything grows like weeds, and have a small herb garden especially for those herbs that yield great oils. I am embarking on a course of study to become a Naturopathic Physician, and a Spiritual healer, with some Reiki in there for good measure. I am interested in everyone's contributions regarding the practice of aromatherapy, especially in the United States, where the practice is still quite new and nobody here understands it, they still think it is " new age " or " pagan, " (not to bash anyone who calls themselves pagan), its just that Americans can be pretty puritanical, shying away from anything that could possibly shake their Christian foundations. I am a Christian and I believe that aromatherapy just represents part of the Pharmacy that God blessed us with and that essential oils are spiritually inert; that is, they are not inherently good or bad, just like any other inanimate object. How do you practice? Do you advertise your trade, do you become a massage therapist first (not for me, I have some carpal tunnel symptoms), do you rent space? Please write on this subject if you have a business doing this very thing, I would be very appreciative. StaceyB

I just found this information a few days ago myself. There is a Dr. Fernan Poulin in Roswell, GA that runs the White Winds Institute School of Energy Medicine. It's not too terribly far from me and I was thrilled to find out it existed!
