Guest guest
Good Morning, This is for my new friend Tracy (the Moderator of this list) and all her members.... For the Love of Essential Oils Once you understand the purpose of why essential oils exist, you will want them in your life forever. They represent life itself, the source of all healing. My wish is that you will share them with a friend, and let them experience some of your oils. Essential Oils work on several different levels. They affect most people through the sense of smell. The sense of smell is the most complexed and the sensitive of the five senses. Once the Olfactory receptors identify an aroma, nerve cells relay this information directly to the Limbic system of the brain. Here, aromas can trigger memories and influence behavior. Additionally, the Limbic system works in conjunction with the pituitary gland and the Hypothalamus region of the brain to regulate the hormonal activities thus triggering the production of hormones that govern appetite, body temperature, insulin production, overall metabolism, stress levels, sex drive, and conscious thought and reactions. The Limbic system also influences immunity. Essential oils can have a positive affect on all these functions. Essential oils work through the skin as well. They can stimulate surface skin cells, calm inflamed or irritated skin, release muscle spasms, soothe sore muscles and relieve muscle tension. Steam distillation and Cold pressing for Essential Oils Steam distillation is the most common method of extacting essential oils. Steam distillation is done in a still. Fresh or sometimes dried botanicals are placed in the plant chamber of the still and pressurized steam is generated in a seperate chamber of the still and circulated through the plant material. the heat of the steam forces tiny intercellular pockets that hold the essential oil to open and release them. As they are released the tiny droplets of essential oil evaporate and together with the steam, travel through a tube into the still's condensation chamber. As the steam cools it condenses into water. To seperate the essential oil from the water, the film is then skimmed off the top. The remaining water is called floral water. Any method of extracting essential oil is cold pressed expression. It is used to obtain citrus fruit oils. In this process fruit rolls over a trough with sharp projections that penetrate the peel. This piercing the tiny pouches contains the essential oil. Then the whole fruit is pressed to squeeze the juice from the pulp and to release the essential oil from the pouches. THe essential oils rise to the surface of the juice and is seperated from the juice by centrifugation. Essential oils are classified as either top, middle, or base notes. These single notes have a general rule of thumb: *Top notes are the fastest acting and quickest to evaporate. Lasting 3-24 hrs. *Middle notes are the moderately volatile, affect metabolism, body functions. Last 2-3 days. *Base notes are slower to evaporate, the most sedative and relaxing oils. Last up to approximately one week. Guest guest
As far as dress is concerned, I believe that it is a marketing decision... White lab coat says I am a scientist suit and tie says I am a businessman business casual says I am in a business that where i can't impress with dress kung fu outfit, beads and dashiki etc says i am a healer they see what you look like before you touch or speak so market yourself in a way that you feel comfortable then your patients will feel comfortable as well.
