Guest guest
Robin, I know all about Phobias but actually never thought about using essential oils. I am claustrophobic. YUCK. Don't ever give me a turtle neck or wear one in my presence for that matter!!!! My phobia gets worse as the years go by but I know where it came from. My mother died of lung cancer 3 years ago and I guess watching her gasp for air had much and all to do with it since it was then that I have this. Allow me to quote Valerie Ann Worwood on Phobias because let's face it, I can't put it in any better words than her!! " To have a phobia is to have an ongoing, irrational fear of a particular object or situation....Phobias have been described as a fear that is out of all proportion to a situation, which logic and discussion cannot dispel, is not under voluntary control, and leads to avoiding the feared situation. This makes phobias a psychological reaction, an emotional reaction, a behavioral reaction and if panic attacks are involved, a physiological reaction....Used in phobias EO's can help in panic attacks, build up confidence, allay anxiety, help a person come to terms with the phobia and also develop the balance needed when, foe example, having to face up to the problem....There are no general blends that help with phobias as so many systems are involved and the phobia expresses itself so differently in people. It is best to write a list of all your symptoms and make up your own personal oil " . p.181-182 The Fragrant Mind, Aromatherapy for Personality, Mind, Mood , and Emotion. by Valerie Ann Worwood Hope this helps. I recently started to get into aromatherapy, thus my reluctance to post when I have such a limited knowledge against all the licensed, studied up people. :-) >Anyway I have enjoyed reading and learning so far. >I have a query then if any one would care to reply. >Are there any oils that can help (preferably cure) phobias/anxiety. I have a very nasty phobia that makes my life absolute living hell and I would like to get rid of it. I burn some oils for anxiety but was wondering if any could cure phobias. I would drink a bottle of it if I had to. :-) > >Robin > > > > >[Attachments have been removed from this message] > >>----------------- >HELP THIS LIST GROW - INVITE A FRIEND > >Did you know that there is a resource section for this list.
