Guest guest
Hi All! My name is Jen...and I sound like I am attending an AA meeting here I am an LPN by trade...working in drug and alcohol addicitons...at first with herion addicts and the last year with a variety of addicted individuals. I have been married for 25 yrs to Tommy and we have two sons in their 20's..TJ and Jack. I have been using EOs for about 6 yrs now...on myself and family/friends. I am a crafts person by nature and love creating. Cross Stitch, crocheting, beadwrok and many other types of crafts have crossed my path. I currently am learning to make soap..have made a couple of batches and hoping they turn out good enough to give as gifts this year...I am calling it the " pamper yourself season " ...as I am planning on giving the soaps, and other bath products I am working on, along with the various items you always think to buy and never do...ie: wooden back scrubers, pumice stones, foot tubs, those lovely turkish robes...etc. I believe in many different therapies...including the modern approach...where appropiate. Herbs are a big fasination to me and are used just as regularly as EOs in this house. My husband and I are clearing some of our land to start an herb garden as a side business, as I have been approached to sell plants to a couple of herb shops in the area and another shop has given me a listing of herbs that she would like to have for her customers...in the dried form...we shall see how it goes... Currently I am getting ready for the Christmas season...my favorite of all time. I desgin and build a display for a local store...this is my 4th year of doing it. It is a collectible called Dept 56 and consist of little lighted houses. I do 5 different villages. My husband helps with the things I cannot do...like lighting and cutting and such. For both of us it is our signal to get ours done and the house all set up...we love our villages! My favorite compliment I have gotten on these displays is from a few different families who have told me it has become their family tradition to come right after Thanksgiving...just to view the displays. I use EOs everyday, in one form or another...I have a nice collection of oils...some are used more than others..so to the question of what oils would be the best to start with...Lavender, Tea Tree, Sweet Orange, Eucalyptus, and Peppermint would be the ones I would include and do...for my Emergency Box. I have a case that fits in my pocketbook..the case is a jewelry box that held a bracelet my husband gave me one year...in the case are those 5 oils...along with a few blends and two one-dram bottles of almond oil as a carrier...the blends and EOs are in 5/8 dram vials..all are labled and at hand if anything comes up while I am out and about...and they are very well protected by the box. To store my oils at home...I use various tins...cut 1 " foam to fit the insides and then cut holes with an exacto knife to fit the bottles in...these are then stacked up on top of each other..when closed they do not take up alot of space. Some one had sked about cases to carry their oils in...as suggested on the AT list...there re cases that you might want to check out...such as a photograher's case...maybe an Avon dealers display case? Another thought...is go to a craft shop...Michales is one...I have seen small lunchbox type cases...you would probalby need to bottle up your EOs into smaller vials to make them fit...I would also use foam to keep them from rolling...and the best part is you can decorate the outside yorself as these are plain white. Wel I think I have taken up enough space... Take Care! Jen in CT
