I thought the list was fairly active, especially from knowledgeable people. I don't know that much about Aromatherapy and I'm learning a lot from the people on the list and from my readings. Some people just don't feel comfortable posting and introducing themselves until a reasonable and comfortable time has past, especially introverts. Now, for those of us who have big mouths and strong opinions, we scoot right up to the lectern with no problems. I'll jump in. I've posted a few times, so technically, I'm exempted, but I'd like to star the ball rolling. I'm Miriam. I'm a Mortgage Loan Officer who makes soap for a hobby. I have a sister that is a Massage Therapist and working on her Aromatherapy Certification. She and my soaps got me interested in Aromatherapy. I know only the basics and I'm increasing my knowledge daily. I use EO's and Fragrance oils in my soaps. For my personal use, I use EO's. At work, I drive my processor crazy with the EO's I have in my office. I have a nebulizer that I use. I have Peppermint EO on my desk for headaches. The bottle seems to get used by everyone with headaches. I use Sandalwood in my car for it's therapeutic effects, besides I LOVE the scent. I made my mother some lotion bars with Ginger EO to help warm her up. That make me a true believer in EO's, along with the Peppermint EO. I would like to take some classes on Aromatherapy, but I'm working on my Masters and I don't have the time nor energy for additional formal schooling. I did like the discussion about the molecular structure of EO's. I would like to see more of that to help me learn about essential oils. Eventually, I would like to be able to mix up my own perfume. I don't like the " cheap " scents on the market. When I do find a perfume I like it's always hard to find a supplier who carries it. The solution for me is to mix my own. Where are you guys??? Many people really like this list and enjoy sharing with you but would like some sharing in return. This is a safe place so don't be afraid.
