Guest guest
Eric, To keep it extremely simple, esthers, eithers, terpenes, etc, are descriptions of the atomic structures of particular molecular patterns of certain organic compounds. These individual compounds come together to make more complex compounds such as EO's. :-) Seriously, these terms describe different individual compounds that make up EO's. Each of these simple compounds has particular medicinal properties, i.e., phenols stimulate blood flow, warm the skin, and generally are mentally stimulating when inhaled. They can be irritating to the skin. The EO's that have these characteristics are generally higher in phenols. Instead of going into it in detail here(someone else may but I won't) I suggest getting " Aromatherapy for Dummies " , it has a pretty simple explanation of how this works. Frank There's all this esters, ethers, terpenes, pheonols. What does all this mean? > >
