Guest guest
Hello, Sorry it took me so long to get back to answering this question, busy week. I regularly use true Origanum vulgare (oregano oil, Butch's for those of you who are familiar with him) orally to ward off colds, flu like symptoms and sinus infections. I mix it 50:50 with olive oil, then put 2-3 drops in a shot of water and throw it back quickly; I can't say I'm enamored of the taste. Before I became a user of EO's two years ago I was on antibiotics 4-6 times per year for sinus infections. Taking this oil orally is part of a group of things I do for the sinus problems, including a homeopathic remedy and a blend of oils in a carrier that I place over the sinus openings on my face several times a day. September 1997 was the last time I took antibiotics; I'm convinced the oils are the reason. My doctor laughs at my " voodoo medicine " but I laugh right back. Since he also suffers sinus problems and he still gets sick when I don't, I think I have the upper hand here. I also use EO's for indigestion or nausea, a drop of peppermint in a cup of tea works wonders. Other tea things I have done are a drop of bergamot in black tea to make my own " Earl Gray " and a blend of oils like orange or lemon with cinnamon leaf, clove, ginger or cardamom which is put " one drop " in a cup of tea to perk it (and me) up. One just has to be sure, as others have pointed out, that they know the source and qualities of their oils, and that they are true AT grade oils, not " fragrance " blends containing synthetic compounds. I also don't tell others to do this, but occasionally I have said " I have done this and it worked for me " and let the person decide if they want to do that on their own. Those I have suggested this to are generally knowledgeable about the oils and AT. Sincerely, Laurie
