Guest guest
Hi Sharon, One of the basics is Eucalyptus. Also, Myrtle, Pine, Lavender (for calming), Lemon, and Peppermint. Just using any one of these can bring relief or even layering these on one at a time can be wonderful. Taking a very warm bath with essential oils is also great benefit to the body and allows one to rest deeply letting all the healing processes sink in! When using the oils for the ears just remember to apply them behind the ear, not in the ear. Personally, I'd just focus on the Lavender and or Eucalyptus for behind the ears. I've also got some great blends that I work with that really soothe and aid my recovery time. Wishing you well, in all ways, Lynn clearSHADOW [clearSHADOW] Tuesday, November 02, 1999 9:27 AM [aromaexchange] head cold and painful earache clearSHADOW Iwas wondering what EOs to take for my cold an earache I am now taking echinacea with goldenseal and my vitamins but also wanted to use aromatherpy thanks love and light Sharon in Florida
Guest guest
> Iwas wondering what EOs to take for my cold an earache - Sharon If you want to take them, then make a dish of something good with oregano - the fresh herb - with a healthy dose of garlic. Between those two nothing lives!!! After that I apply lavender with either peppermint or eucalyptus over the throat area. Cover with a hot moist towel wrapped in another towel. The " steam " heated oils are heavenly to the nose as you sit back with a cup of chamomile tea (with lemon?) Take care not to get chilled. Guest guest
Hi Sharon in Florida Sharron in Montreal here For colds, the best Eo's are those which are high in oxides such as Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Ravensara, Niaouli etc...Remember to dilute these in carrier oil..or you can add a few drops to a bowl of hot water and place a towel over your head and make a mini sauna..Don't do this if you have problems with asthma though cause some people find it too strong on their lungs...I generally diffuse pine or Cinnamon in the house to get rid of some of the bacteria lingering around...I find it clears me up to take a bath with Rosemary added and close the door to make sure you get the vapours, not only does it clear the sinuses it also helps with that achy feeling that comes with the cold/flu Hope that helps Sharron in Montreal
