Guest guest
Hey y'all, Teresa in SC, USA here, I am a registered nurse in a busy trauma center. Have a DH and a sweet adopted cocker furkid who are subject to my lotions and potions. I also make soap, lotions, salves, bath fizzies, etc. I got into herbalism and AT when I started realizing there were many things " modern medicine " was helpless in treating. I've had an interest in herbs for many years, thanks to my wonderful Granny, who started me in my love affair with dirt at a very young age. As I grew up, I started reading about herbs, paid attention to my Elders, and was blending my own teas and salves, etc. Somewhere along the line,(please don't make me pin down where) I got into AT. Can't even remember the first book I bought for sure. Now, even though my paycheck comes from a VERY allopathically oriented organization, I choose to treat myself with herbs and AT as much as possible. PLEASE don't get me wrong here though, there IS a place for modern medicine. If I'm in a major car accident or have a serious illness, I KNOW the best place to be is a good hospital or MD's office(preferably who is at least familiar with vitamins, herbs, etc.) I'm also into the Healing Touch Program affiliated with the American Holistic Nurses Association-learning Energy based modalities of healing. I sell my soaps, etc. to coworkers and also in a very holistically oriented MD's office. Sorry to be so long winded, but all of this is a very important part of me. Guest guest
Welcome Theresa Western medicine and complementary medicine are ideally supposed to work together, not against one another, so don't feel stressed by your commitment to both.
