Guest guest
Dear Eric, Thanks for asking! I use essential oils in my practice and it's incredible. So many oils aide in depression. One of my favorites is Frankincense!!! Also, Ylang-Ylang!!! Rose oil I've found it too much for many personality types, even though it is a high frequency, it can be over powering, or just plain repugnant for some. This may seem funny, but even the oil of Oregano can be uplifting if someone has good family memories around eating pastas, etc.!!! Tangerine is very uplifting, as well as any of the citrus aromas. Gosh, the list can go on and on because it goes back to finding what are the good memories and then building on them. In the case of grief, one might ask the client (simplified approach ofcourse) " Can you remember a time with ___ that was a good time, happy time....? What were you doing together? (many times food in involved) Then see what oil can begin to match that and begin to anchor those feelings into the present and then go forward into the future. Trying to keep this simple and direct. Hope this helps. Wishing you well, in all ways, Lynn - Dear List friends, > > I wanted to know how aromatherapy is used with > emotional healing. Like for example, depression, or > grief. Guest guest
Hi Eric, I work with subtle aromatherapy/ counselling so if you can be more specific as to your needs I would be happy to share with you the knowledge I have. As the oils for depression are as diverse as the ways depression can manifest itself they must be carefully selected for individual symptoms which can change from day to day. Rose is perhaps the best oil to use for grief : rose maroc, rose otto which can be combined again according to specific need. blessings jan
