Guest guest
Just a bit of my experience...... boiling water (like any kind of water) does not mix with oil much less cut it for cleansing purposes. So I only use alcohol and it works fast and easy every time. Aayla has great info, I've learned how to diffuse with the same kind of practicality. The higher the grade of oil the better it is to diffuse wisely. Allowing the air to circulate in-between diffusing helps to keep the air purified and oxygenated with these great life giving molecules! Guest guest
Hi Tammy, Some added information for you. The nebulizer is specifically made to use undiluted essential oils. The reason for this is that when you plug it in the air pushes the oil through the tube and against the little " nubs " this breaks down the molecules even smaller and releases the aroma into the air. If you dilute the oil it not only impedes this process but it will ruin your nebulizer. So unfortunately the thicker oils are not to be used with this piece of equipment. Also never, never, never dilute essential oils with alcohol. This will not only ruin the oils properties but is hazardous to inhale. It may be okay for cleaning but not for ANYTHING else. Actually I have never heard of using alcohol, I suppose it is okay for cleaning since it evaporates fairly quickly but don't use alot. Nebulizers also are only meant to be used for short periods of time, since the oils are more potent this way. Usually on for 10 minutes and off for 20. The larger ones have automatic timers which do this for you. It is not recommeded to run it for more than 4 hours straight at a time. This information should have been listed on the instructions that came with it. I hope you enjoy it, it can be a wonderful tool. Guest guest
Aayla, Thanks so much for the additional information. Actually I had purchased the nebulizer through online auction and was waiting for it to arrive. It arrived two days ago and so now I am reading up on it. It does say to clean the brass piece with boiling water, though I have heard it is OK to clean with alcohol. And now I have learned to use it only 10-20 minutes at a time. I guess I could move it to different rooms after 10 minutes in each room, right? It just breaks the eo into smaller pieces to facilitate evaporation. Best regards Phil
