Guest guest
Tracy W., The question I always ask is - how much are you taking? Are you using both Glucoseamine & Condroitin?? My N.D. has found in most cases people just aren't getting enough mgs to have much of an effect. He recommends high does to start, for about 1-2 months and then you can taper off if you are seeing a lot of improvement. He says most people don't see big results at only 1500 mgs per day. He had some serious back problems himself - was hit by a car in a pedestrian crosswalk & told he'd never walk again, but he walks fine. He took A LOT - I think over 3000 mgs per day to get well. My horse was pronounced by 4 vets as permanently lame. I had her on 21,000 mgs of both condroitin and glucosamine per day and she is fine now. Smaller does had little effect on her condition. Guest guest
Tracy I concur with Susan re dosage. I take only glucosame sulfate (can't afford the condroitin tho I think I've found a more reasonable source of supply, email me if you're interested) at over 2000mg daily in 3 doses. Bursitis is an inflammation and anti-inflamatories can be helpful for that issue..... some herbs are while willow bark, St. John's Wort, Gingko biloba and Doetary change has done wonders for some folks with both these issues. Feel better soon. MJH << Tracy W., The question I always ask is - how much are you taking? Are you using both Glucoseamine & Condroitin?? Guest guest
Thanks a lot. I take 3000 mg a day in it now. I take a combination of the two together. Thanks for the other suggestions. I will try them. I take St. John's Wort now. So, I will see if any other can help. Thanks, Tracy - Foxhillers Tuesday, October 12, 1999 11:13 AM Re: [aromaexchange] Re: glucos & condroitin dosages... Thanks, Tracy >> Tracy What is the formulation of your Glucosamine/Chondroitin? 500/400? If so, you are taking 6 per day to get to 3000 mg Glucosamine. I have just switched a week ago from St John's Wort at high doses to SAM-e (I found a reasonable source for it) and it works far better for me than St John's Wort . I have diagnoses of Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia, etc. lots of pain of numerous kinds. Feel better MJH
