Guest guest
Hi.. My name is Chris and I live in Australia. I have been using aromatherapy for over a year now, and love what it can do for me. I suffer with migraines and get very nautious and cant eat. I mix up lavender, basil and peppermint with a combination carrier oil and massage my shoulders and down my arms, as the muscles get sore there. I find when i have the migraines, the smells of the oils make me more nautious. I have also tried cold compresses on the back of my neck and forehead with the oils and it is still strong. I only use the 5 drops with 10ml as reccomended. Any suggestions please? Thanks Chris
Guest guest
Hi, Try rose oil on the temples & back of the neck -- just a tiny amount, or blend lavender & rose. If you don't like 'flowery' smells the rose will probably increase your nausea!! Also -- some acupressure points - feel where the spine meets the skull ... work your fingers out i.e. towards your ears !! ..... about 2 fingerwidths out you will feel an indentation, painful to touch at first.... massage the oil into this point, gently at first then more firmly. (You can use the point without the oil). Treat the headache part & the nausea will probably go as well. Good luck. If everything advised (by myself & others on this site) fails, see your doctor for some sumatriptan!!! If you know anybody who does shiatsu, they may have some other pressure point advice. mousy <mousy < > 23 September 1999 05:46 headaches and nausea > " mousy " <mousy > >Hi.. >My name is Chris and I live in Australia. >I have been using aromatherapy for over a year now, and love what it can do for me. Guest guest
Thanks for the advice. I have done some pressure pointing in my shoulders, and down my spine and that helps a little, but will try the oils and pressure where you suggested. I have just started doing a massage course and hopefully will learn shiatsu after that. I will let you know how i go with it. bye for now Chris - Pendlestone <pstone < > Friday, 24 September 1999 5:06:pm Re: headaches and nausea > " Pendlestone " <pstone > > Hi, > Try rose oil on the temples & back of the neck -- just a tiny amount, or > blend lavender & rose.
