Guest guest
There isn't much written about the historical links between India and China in the field of medicine. Paul Unschuld's classic book Medicine in China: A History of Ideas has some remarks on this, mainly concerning the Buddhists, which are good. Dr Vijaya Deshpande (Pune) has published important articles in the Bulletin of SOAS (London) and in the Indian J. Hist. Science (Delhi) about the transmission of Indian ophthalmic surgery to China. Ronald Emmerick's work on Ravigupta's SiddhasÄra throws light on the circulation of Indian medical ideas in Central Asia (as does Hoernle's earlier work on the Bower Manuscript).
