Guest guest
Hello Everyone! I'm so glad to be a part of this group. I'm Aleli Quirante, faculty of the University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication. I obtained my masteral and doctoral degrees in Communication from the same College. One of my interests is health communication. I've been studying and researching on Philippine traditional as well as alternative medicine for almost 20 years now. Among my studies were : " The Healing Ritual as a Communication Process " (case studies of healers from Rizal Province who trace their healing modalities to Mt. Banahaw, considered as a mystical mountain); KAP on health practices and traditional medicine (nationwide), health information dissemination through the internet of government and non- government organizations; use of internet by Metro Manila residents for health information; and some primary health care researches. I'm one of the founding members of the Philippine Association of Traditional Health Aid Givers (ATHAG), which conducts research and training on indigenous methods of healing. I practice reiki and " ventosa " (cupping).
