Gurucharanam Saranam SANTHIGIRI ASHRAM Santhigiri P.O., Thiruvananthapuram - 695 584, Kerala, India PRESS RELEASE - May 9 -2007 Swami Satyaprakasha Jnana Tapaswi is the new President of Santhigiri Ashram, Thiruvananthapuram, following the passing away of Swami Jyotirmaya Jnana Tapaswi, the earlier President. He has been nominated to this post by the spiritual head of the ashram, Sishyapoojita Janani Amrita Jnana Tapaswini. The Swami, Sri P.T. Varghese in his poorvashrama, received the initiation into Sanyasa from Navajyoti Sree Karunakara Guru in 1984. He was born in 1948 in Kottayam as the younger son of Manarkad Pudiyathadathil Sri Cherian Thomas and Smt. Akkamma. The Swami joined Santhigiri Ashram in 1976 and has served in the various branches of the ashram. He was the Secretary of the Ernakulam Branch of the
