Santhigiri Ashram, through its health care division, has been promoting Indian systems of Medicines - Ayurveda and Siddha through various programs. One such program is Karunyam National Health Care Program, the first phase of which was launched last year in Kerala benefiting nearly 3 lakhs people. Santhigiri Ashram through one more unique health care program, ‘Siddha Village’, adopted Chandiroor village, the birth place of Guru and rendered free medical assistance to 2400 patients involving Santhigiri Siddha Medical college students and Doctors. The activities of the Ashram have drawn national and international attention. The Union of German Malayali Association (UGMA) has honored Swami Gururetnam Jnana Tapaswi, Director, Santhigiri Ashram, with its Karunya Varsha Award, which will be presented to him at Bonham, Germany on 9, 10 June, 2007.
