The Chief Minister, A. K. Antony, will formally inaugurate the Siddha Medical College and the Ayurveda Medical College being promoted by Santhigiri Ashram, at a function here on September 10. The Health Minister, P. Sankaran, will preside. The Siddha medical college is to be set up at the ashram at Pothencode, while the Ayurveda medical college will be at Olasseri, Palakkad. The Santhigiri Siddha medical college will be the first of its kind in this medicinal system, which is claimed to have miracle powers of healing. The Commissioner of Entrance Exams has taken all steps to include the

options for the two new courses, for children seeking admission to professional colleges. The infrastructure requirements would be completed and the admission procedure started this year itself, an official release said. The Santhigiri Ayurveda Siddha Vaidya Sala has been since 1972, manufacturing and distributing over 400 Ayurveda-Siddha medicines across the country and has set up a network of Panchakarma centres and mobile clinics, it said.
