Under this scheme a 100-150-bed hospital will be set up in every state in the next 15 years. In addition, medical colleges, research centres and laboratories with modern facilities will be established for the successful implementation of the scheme.The head of the Santhigiri Ashram, Swami Jyotirmay Jnana Thapaswy, said that five hospitals, one research centre and 200 clinics are already functional in Kerala. To expand these facilities in other parts of the country, the ashram has made extensive plans. The estimated cost of the project would be Rs 35,000 crore. The project will take 15 years to complete, and for systematic implementation of the scheme on national level, the country will be divided into five zones: North, East, West, Central and South. The swami added that infrastructure will include facilities for research, analysis and documentation of work done at respective blocks. Extensive arrangements will be made for training courses of a short duration in ayurveda, sidha, panchakarma, yoga and other disciplines for paramedics, doctors, pharmacologists and other medical researchers.
