Greetings all

I am new to the list & don't get much time to post. But enjoy reading all

the

posts.

I am just starting to make my own bath salts, and was wondering if there is

a

substitute for Borax. As I live in a small town & so far have not been able

to locate any.

And information will be greatly appreciated.

Hugs

Go to the laundry section of your supermarket and get some BORAXO, that's

what I do.

There are many things that can go into a bathsalt recipe and so if you

omit the borax it will not be a disaster :) You could try adding a

little Baking soda to make the water softer, basically this is what the

borax does anyways or you can just use plain bathsalts and add EO's

I add my EOs to a mix of 2 cups Epsom salts, 1 cup sea salts, 1 cup nonfat

powdered milk. I use a very generous amount in the tub to treat for muscle

spasms and fibromyalgia.

Good Afternoon!

I have a question. There have been quite a few posts about Soy

on this forum. At the moment,I am interested in purchasing a good Soy

Lecithin. Just wondering if there are any of you who have come

across information pertaining to a good non-gmo Organic SOY Lecithin?

It would need to be labeled as such for my satisfaction.

Information doesn't seem to be forthcoming on this. Hmmm...perhaps

Monsanto is hiding something?

It boosts all digestive juices, those from stomach, liver, pancreas

also. That is why it is said to be causing Deepana(boosting agni or

digestive fire) in ayurvedic texts.

Regarding insulin, author suspected that it was also getting boosted,

when liver detox was carried out by few diabetics! Their blood glucose

dropped. And they showed weight loss more than non-diabetics.

The scientific mindset will, however, demand blood insulin

levels after taking lemon water. Let scientist study this in depth.

After all journals/conferences/seminars must go on. Layman will argue that if

hunger increases, person will eat more, digest better, so more blood sugar

should result! So see how a question leads to many more questions!

But lemon water should not be the mainstay of diabetes treatment.

I am not aware that this happens. However studies have shown that lemon

can reduce insulin resistance:

" ...lemon polyphenols may help improve insulin resistance through the

suppression of visceral fat accumulation. " (Y Fukuchi et al, Lemon

Polyphenols Suppress Diet-induced Obesity by Up-Regulation of mRNA

Levels of the Enzymes Involved in β-Oxidation in Mouse White Adipose

Tissue, J Clin Biochem Nutr. 2008 November; 43(3): 201–209.)

This would be helpful for people with various metabolic syndromes.

Best regards,

Gerald
