Guest guest
Are B Vitamins the kind of vitamins that should be taken daily (like Vitamin C, on account of how it leaves the body quickly and cannot be produced by the body) or only every couple of days? I thought vit C was the only vitamin that cannot be made by the body? Ah well, guess this is a sign for me to get back to the books..... Guest guest
Tracy What about mutli vitamin supplement everyday? For b vitamins what if you didnt drink , and arent normally stressed, but get stressed easily and your body doesnt handle stress well? Would that mean to take vit b, low dose, everday? Thanks Erin
Guest guest
Stress depletes the body, as does other things of B vitamins. So if you drink booze and get stressed ,you would need to take them everyday. Smokers need to take Vit C as smoking depletes this vitamin. Life depletes vitamins - we need a cartful perhaps...... Guest guest
Dear Erin, I think you are right that vitamin c is not produced by the body. I am confused about the whole subject. I take 2000 mgs a day(two doses) but then I heard that the body can absorb only a fraction of this. Have you heard this as well? I've also heard that B vitamins aren't absorbed well by the body so shots are recommended. I am so confused. I think though(assuming b vitamins can be abrsorbed) that you're supposed to take them every day. I do know that many times if b vitamins are given as shots its for anemia thats due to a deficiency of the vit B12. Erin
Guest guest
We need a bit of clarification here. Do you mean that you've " ...heard that B vitamins aren't absorbed well by the body... " whether it's from foods or from supplements; or just from supplements? If B vit's are difficult to absorb from supplements, you might consider taking them in divided doses, more than once a day, as would be the case, naturally, with multi-nutrient formulae that include fairly large amouts of the various B vitamins, and are designed to be taken at each of the three meals, for example. It's very likely, that absorption of supplements of the B vitamins would be enhanced if they're always taken with food. - <ErinGJ80 Sunday, January 20, 2002 3:21 PM Re: b vitamins - how often? > In a message dated 1/16/2002 10:08:03 PM Pacific Standard Time, > egcress writes: > > > > Have you heard this as well?
