Guest guest
A light box mimics the effect of the sun on your eyes, fighting of seasonal fatigue and depression. It's just a huge full spectrum box of bright lights- sit in front of it for half an hour in the mornings. I tend to feel slightly manic when I overuse it and it definitely gives me energy. Of course a half hour in the winter sun is better than a box, but it is so cold out! It's just a huge full spectrum box of bright lights- sit in front of it for half an hour in the mornings. Hi Mimi, that just made me remember something. About 20 yrs ago i borrowed this book off a friend, about Egypt (my favourite subject.) In it, they had diagrams for making canopy's for over the bed and smaller ones for putting articles in, to have them restored. It claimed to turn an old rusty razor back into a shiny near new one. The bed canopy was supposed to heal much more than what the article below states. Think i will do a more thorough search tomorrow, and see what i can come up with. http://www.angelsplay.com/healing/pyramids1.html Pyramids are a mystery and wonder. They have captured and held the imagination with their power for healing. People using pyramids have claimed relief from a variety of ailments. In cases of sprains, cuts, bruises, strains, infections, etc., healing has apparently occurred in a short amount of time. Pyramids are also useful in alleviating stress factors. Some people place pyramid shapes over or under their beds to create healing influences. Kirlian photography has proven a change in the magnetic field inside pyramids. Since it is a well known fact that one magnetic field can disrupt an electron flow or alter an existing magnetic field, pyramids may create an altered electromagnetic field. It seems that an optimum healing state is created within the energy field of a pyramid allowing the energy generated to raise the resonance level of cells, tissues, organs, etc. to reach their optimal level of existence. The form of a pyramid aligned on the north-south axis produces an unusual energy field. In today's society, most of us live in a cubical shaped homes, or rooms, that distort or inhibit the energy fields inside the home. It is possible that preventive medicine of the future will be practiced by the engineers and architects. Homes may then be designed and constructed for their therapeutic qualities. Those designs might well be in the shape of a pyramid. >>>>>Of course a half hour in the winter sun is better than a box, but it is so cold out! It is actually Summer over here, well, it is supposed to be, have had almost 3 months of solid rain. Mind you, we have had almost 24 hrs with fine weather, fingers and paws crossed. Regards, Dorothy. I have strip lighting (flourescent!!)in my kitchen and changed that to full spectrum - I also have a full spectrum in my lounge. This ensures that I get a lot more than the half hour that you need with a light box but, if you have SAD badly enough, you would need a light box. It would depend how long you sat in the room with the full spectrum lighting. If you would like, I will contact the company that I purchase my bulbs from and ask them the question tomorrow (we are closed for the day here in the UK), they also make light boxes so they should know the answer. Please let me know if you would like me to do this. It would depend on how good your full spectrum lights were of course. And where do you buy one? I don't suppose you'd get the same effect by simply using full spectrum light bulbs, would you? Mindy
