Guest guest
I am not sure about specific varieties but they are an excellent anti oxident and also alklaline for those who are too acidic. I've also been told that Trader Joe's sometimes has frozen wild blueberries, although I've never seen them there myself. Blueberries are my favorite fruit so I eat any variety I can find. You can also get wild blueberry jams at the health food store Margaret in MD

Guest guest
All the berries are considered miracle foods, but blueberries and raspberries, are at the top of the berry list. Strawberries are among the foods listed by Dr. Weil as in the " top 10. " I've read that cherries are also in this league, though I'm not sure that they can be included among berries. Weil bemoaned the fact that, despite the incredible nutritional and phytonutritional benefits of eating strawberries, they also were placed at #1 in a list of the dozen most heavily pesticided of all foods. I stick to organic. - " sindea.horste " <sindea.horste Sunday, January 13, 2002 9:42 PM Re: Blueberries ? > I look forward to the replies to this. Guest guest
Hi Deb Are these carefully cultivated blueberry plants? I'm thinking seriously, of trying to grow blueberries in my back yard, in Los Angeles (hot, dry climate, not much rain). - <Peaches14845 Monday, January 14, 2002 5:22 PM Re: Blueberries ? > I live in New York and I know a great place to pick wild blueberries!! You can either build a small cage to grow this type of fruit in or you can throw something a net curtain over the bush when the berries are getting to look tasty for those birds. Don't take too much to build and of course the weather does not affect how effective they will be. Netting can be blown off in windy weather and sometimes the birds can get under the netting! I take your point about getting a cat - 4 Dalmations must keep you pretty well exercised. Marianne > I have 4 Dalmatians!!!
