Guest guest
John, I admire your spirit, flexibility and courage. However, I find that I cannot eat any citrus or tomatoes b/c it is highly acidic in nature. Did you know that certain native americans considered the tomatoe to be a poisonous fruit? I came across that in an article the other day. Sort of interesting to read up on it. I don't think I could ingest a half rotten tomatoe in the light of the fact that most toxins collect in the bruised and half-rotten areas. Yikes I think I get enough of those w/o taking any additional chances. I would be interested in visiting this fellow's website though. certainly a unique approach he has there. One of the reasons that I refuse to eat citrus is I had a small ulcer at the same time I expereinced my infamous heart problems. With just eliminating citrus many of the problems disappeared. I just wouldn't want to eat anything that would tend to aggravate it right at the moment. :-) There are SOooo many other foods I'm eating now... I can honestly say that I don't even miss the citrus. <grin> Actually I eat quite a bit of asparagus, spinach, parsley, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, and green beans now. I find that they reduce my cancer risk,..so I think I'll go with them for the time being. Asparagus and broccoli seems to be the highest antioxidants from what I've read. and asparagus has a substance called asparagine that tends to wash out any fatty deposits that accumulate over time. I try to eat these foods on a daily basis. Also beets for my liver. Some say that root veggies are the best, but I find that my health has improved immensely with these. I just think much of the indigestion that is plaguing americans is due to antibiotics and GMO laced foods. Antibiotics kill both good and bad bacteria within the intestinal tract. One needs to get their probiotics to counteract this condition. Antibiotics contributed to my illness also in a roundabout way, I realize that now much to my dismay. For that reason I use only natural remedies for flu, colds and sinus symptoms and am faring much better with natural remedies. You should look into licorice if you have an ongoing digestive problem. Licorice(the health food store varieties) have almost completely eliminated my son's digestive complaints.
