Guest guest
Morning John, >I know how much water I want to drink, but I don't know how much salt to >allow in " my " diet, and certainly don't know yet, what are the best kinds of >salt to purchase, and from what companies. Of course I agree with your thinking and face most of the problems that you describe. >My feeling, for better or worse, is that it's easier to exceed, than >under-supply the body's need for salt, so that, in principle, I would like >to strive to use the least amount of salt; and, I love the stuff. I often think I drink too much water. The body seems to know what to do with the excess. Possibly we worry too much about providing the exact right amount of everything. We are all aware of the master chemist that resides within us. Like you, I would like to get the exact right amount of salt and everything else. That may not be possible. I came across a good number of small plastic vials. I have a number of sizes. They hold from 1/4 to 1/2 and 1 tsp. Some are larger and will hold about 4 to 5000 mg of powered vitamins and minerals. I weigh out 2000 mg of sea salt per vial. I think the good doctor, Dr. Batman, suggest 2500 mg per day. It is interesting that this amount is close to the amount needed for potassium, calcium, and magnesium. Maybe this is telling us something. I keep these in my shirt pocket and often when drinking water, will get a small amount of salt. My blood sodium has remained very constant for about 1.5 years now. Why would we not think the body knows exactly what to do with the excess? It would seem that we get excess minerals and B vitamins at times with little problems. Maybe someone can offer ideas about how the body handles the excess of various substances. Wayne
