--- Marianne,

You know I really wasn't aware that this so-called healthy

spread was being promoted in other countries as well. These

companies...don't recall which ones at the moment...recruited Regis

and other *stars* to promote it as well(Benecol and Take Control).

And Regis had a triple bypass! This is too asinine.

Very few are aware of what is going on. Older people esp. need to be

warned of the consequences. I was inflamed when I first realized how

I had been duped by all this hype. Well, that was not good for my

condition at that moment I'll tell you...as many of these problems

are stress related also. I think it is promoted by the AMA. The

Harvard School of Public Health warns against transfats. You should

visit their website, also Dldewey's. He has some great info on

transfats.

You really have to watch it, I've found. I bought some *healthy*

peanut butter in the natural foods aisle, only to find out that it

contained the mono-diglycerides also. That seems to be another name

for it now. Pretty sneaky... they are starting to market the same

thing under a different name. After all that research, I started to

have some heart problems again...wouldn't you know it? I visited

dldewey's site and that was it!

Mary Enig has some excellent information on this, also Udo Erasmus

book, " Fats that heal, fats that kill " , is a good reference. This was

a rude awakening for me also and although most just shrug it off as

another " junk " food, in the final analysis it's the quality of life

that counts, you know Marianne?

I want to be able to *live* in the way I desire and not live in fear

of what happens next. Giving up these unhealthy fats has enabled me

to carry on a much healthier existence than I had even previously

when I was very young. I had heart palpitations my entire life but

never was able to make the connection (margarines) until I came to

grips with it after my *attack*. It was a hard lesson to learn, but I

learned it well.

You are entirely welcome, Marianne. I'm glad you are improving. :-)
