Guest guest
Hello everyone. I am new to this group but not to the disease. I suffer from Karposis' Sarcoma. I had no symptoms and then I got a full blown attack of this on my limbs. 2 years after chemo the lesions are slowly fading. I want to know if anyone has alternative thearapy to helping the fading process along. I am healthy looking except I can't wear shorts or short sleeves and I live in Texas! I would truely appreciate any input. thanks....
Guest guest
Hi there! I was involved a number of years ago, with a Project, here in Vancouver/Canada. The doctor once told me about a creme, likely a herbal compound, that was so effective it would take a knot off a piece of wood. Now, I never saw him treat K.S. with it, but his comments lead me to suspect that consulting a skin specialist might be worthwhile. Alternatively, lasers can take the colour out of a tatoo, so why not K.S. colouring? To be sure you're getting leading edge standard drugs for it, C.A.T.I.E. is a good information source (Canadian AIDS Treatment Information -- can't remember the " E " part). A couple guys in our support group have K.S. One guy says the drugs worked well for him. The other says he looks good dressed (very handsome!), but that undressed it's a problem. Perhaps the drugs don't work well for everyone. Wish you success! Everyone needs love, and this is a barrier. Hello Bluu, A quick web search turned up a few hits: You could try 1,500mg of shark cartilage 3 times a day, and also there's a new (expensive!!! we're talking thousands) topical gel which has a derivative of Vitamin A in it, which makes me wonder if perhaps either oral doses of Vitamin A would help, or even shopping around in the women's facial products line for Vitamin A creams, or Retin-A from a dermatologist. Just a thought. Mindy
