Hi Mindy,

 

Generally for natural oils the more double bonds the oil contains the more Vit E

nature places there to protect against

free radical attack. However commercial processing may strip most, if not all,

of the natural Vit E from the oil and it

is then replaced by synthetic anti-oxidants designed for low cost and to stop

rancidity on the shelf.

 

However inside your fire storm of a living body, even the naturally ocuring Vit

E is not enough to ensure protection

from free radical attack and to stop the formation of oxidized LDL (the cause of

blood vessel plaque)

 

I take 500 IU's per day of supplemental Vit E to top up my lipid protection, 2 -

3 g of Vit C and 1.2 g of Lysine.

Mindy,

Extra Virgin Olive Oil is high in vitamin E content and other

valuable nutrients as they are not compromised by processing. It's

the expeller-pressed process that preserves the nutrients.
