Had a request for this to be posted from someone to private email. So

here it is. Recipe for anti-viral - anti-bacterial oil. One company

in particular calls this blend " Thieves " , another calls it X-Plague, I

call it A GOD SEND!!!. My sis and I both use it daily to protect

against any colds etc. Helps build the immune system (it is said) and

kills virus and bacteria. My 4 yr old grandson comes to me everytime

he visits with a cold. Three days at gamma's, and he's healthy just

with this oil, 2 drops on each foot twice a day.

2 parts - Cloves

1 part - Rosemary

2 parts - Eucalyptus, globulus

2 parts - Cinnamon leaf or 1/2 part Cinnamon bark

1 part - Eucalyptus, radiata

2 parts - Lemon

Hi Francie - I would like to try this, by 'part' do you mean drops (I take it

that you are referring to essential oils here). Also what is the difference

between the Eucalyptus, I have never seen different ones in the UK, they all

just state Eucalyptus - would I need to buy specialist 'oils', or are they

the normal aromatherapy oils.

Thanks, Marianne

Hi Francie - thank you for this wonderful information - I may well just ask

my son to send me some from Australia and then I know that I have the right

one. (I will check the company that I use because they are excellent and

their oils are very pure - Pierre Laurent - a small English company.

Thanks again.

Well, one part could be a drop, a tablespoon, or a cup.

Eucalyptus - there are 5 chemo types I know of. When I say chemo-

types - means different chemical constituencies which means different

action. If you use one and don't have the action you are told you

would have, chances are it's not the same chemo type. So where to

get them, first: In UK you may have more luck with THERAPEUTIC

grade.

Many oils may be diluted or adulterated either by adding things

before or after distillation...those are not pure. An oil may be

pure, but not therapeutic. Chemotypes also vary with soil weather

variations.

The difference is that therapeutic means it has been harvested and

distilled in a manner that allows it to retain the correct chemical

constituencies in the CORRECT proportions that a French government

agency has determined makes it work at the proper intensitive. That

level of accuracy is not used by many plant harvesters or

distillers. To verify that an oil is " perfect " or will allow the

action intended, a test called gas chromatography is one of the first

critera. Yet there are subtle ways to adulterate oils now or produce

synthetic oils that have no action at all, but still pass the GC

test. Finding a company or producer that one trusts is important.

Here are some things to ask to find if a producer is of the highest

quality.

Are fragrances suble, rich, organic and delicate. Are batches sent to

thru 5 different chemical analyses before it's released. Are tests

performed by independent labs. Does supplier grow and distlill its

own organically grown herbs. Are distillation facilities part of the

farm. Are plants distilled using low pressure and low tmep.

If you are buying Eucalyptus, for instance and it does not say what

chemo type it is, you may be getting a variety or mixture of

chemotypes which may not hold the action you want.

Eucalyptus Radiata;

Botanical family Myrtaceae (myrtle)

Origin is Australia

Chemical Constituents: Monoterpenes (8%) cx-pinene, monoterpenols

20%): linalol, borneal, geraniol. cx-terpinol (14%): Monotrpenals:

Terpene oxides: 1.8 cineol (62-72%)

Action: Anti-infectious, antibacterial, antiviral, expectorant, and

anti-inflammatory.

Traditional uses: antimicrobial oils sstudied for its action agains

viruses. this oil is used extensiviely for respiratory infections.

Eucalyptus Globulus

Botanical famil: Myrtaceae (myrtle)

Plant Origin: Australia, Brazil

Chemical Constituents: Monoterpenes: cxpinenes (10 -12%)

sesquiterpenes: Sesquiterpenols: Terpen oxides: 1.8 cineole (70-75%)

Action: Expectorand, mucolytic, antimicrobial, antibacterial, (staph,

strep, pneumonia) antifungal (candida), antiviral, antiseptic, and

aids respirtatory system

Traditional uses: Autralian aborigines used the leaves as a

disinfectand to cover wounds. Lab tests show a powerful

antimicrobial agent, eucalyptol. Often used for the respiratory

system. Insect repellent. Eucalyptus trees planed throughout parts

of north africa to successfully block the spread of malaria.

Accorting to Jean Valnet, M.D. a solution of 2 percent eucalyptus oil

sprayed in the air will kill 70 percetn of airborn staph bacteria.

Som doctors stilluse solutions of eucalyptus oil in surgical

dressings.

Hope this wasn't too long or boring
