cause of deafness (was: Cream, and the Additives)

Is that the cochlear implant? Wow, I had no idea they'd gotten so

good...I think

they first came out with those about 20 years ago (right?) and they

didn't work

too well back then.

 

Anyway, why are you deaf? How bad was your hearing before getting the

implants?

Both ears?

 

I have a hearing impairment which was likely caused by antibiotics given

to me as

a premature infant. (I think. At least that is what the nurse told my

mother.

The other 2 possibilities are too much oxygen in the glass chamber and

not enough

neural development before being born. But it is mostly likely

iatrogenic

ototoxicity (<--- ah! finally a word that describes what went wrong!))

Anyway...I

did a little research on ototoxic drugs and found out that drugs that

harm the

ears also harm the liver. Which explains the dark circles under my

eyes...I think...
