Soy's negative effect on the thyroid

Hi Ron,

Soy will reduce intestinal uptake of iodine and thus may cause thyroid problems

if iodine intake is not increased. In

Asian countries where soy has been used for a long time, the diet also contained

iodine rich sea fish or seaweed and

thus iodine deficiency was not a problem.

Taking one food out of it's cultural setting without some of the others may be a

worry.
