Guest guest
Is anyone here from CA who has had success in keeping kids vax-free and sending them to school? I have some friends in CA who have sorrowfully given their kids vaccinations after seeing the many hoops they would have to jump through otherwise. Here in Illinois it is as simple as signing the bottom of a religious exemption form...(for school, anyway -- daycare is another matter! But I'm a stay at home mom so I guess that's moot) Mindy
Guest guest
I thought in CA, all you need is a doctors note saying no to Vaxes, I could be wrong. Also it may be hard to find a alternative MD - Mindy Behymer getting well Friday, January 04, 2002 1:02 PM vaxes in california Is anyone here from CA who has had success in keeping kids vax-free and sending them to school? So I thought my friends would get out of vaxes scot-free for sure... I was confused about exactly what their hoops were, something about how they had to fill out a LOT of forms and talk to a bunch of people. Illinois only has medical & religious -- so for me it's easier to say that I don't do it for religious reasons since it's difficult to find doctors who will agree (it's a matter of CYA...doctors won't vax their own kids, but they don't want to stick their necks out for other people's kids). Also, it's illegal for schools to ask you to explain your religious beliefs. So don't feel like you have to make up some story. You could be an agnostic and simply believe that Mother Nature designed humans with an immune system that shouldn't be messed with.
