Guest guest
I have done the Stanley Burroughs " cleansing/healing fast " . I only did it for one week, but know someone who did this fast with the idea of committing suicide with it and walked out of a wheele chair from a severed spinal nerves! Now this was an unusual case, but it seems that apparently fasting in this way, did not allow the scar tissue to build up as it would have had food been being taken in. With no scar tissue, the nerve endings were able to " spark " across and heal. It has been 30 + years since this occurance and he still battles pain, but he not only walks, but runs marathons. The Burroughs method consists of Grade C maple syrup (not like what one buys for pancakes). Grade C is the last draw to the season and the nutrients are forced up thru the roots. So 2 tablespoons of grade c maple syrup, two tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice, 1/10 teaspoon cayenne pepper, and 8 oz pure water. Drink at least 8 glasses a day and more for whenever hunger occurs. The premiss of this cleanse is that between the maple syrup and the lemon juice, one recieves necessary nutrition. They cayanne pepper helps cleanse the colon. If the colon is cleansed and resting, it can heal and it has been said that all disease can be diminished or healed with this cleanse. Diabetics can use this cleanse also, but there's a variation and I don't recall what it is. I had a major healing crisis with this cleanse with flu like symtoms on the third day, but after that it was a breeze. Anyone ever used this fasting/healing/cleanse? Guest guest
The man who walked out of his wheel chair did it for 230 some days out of one year---but remember he was trying to kill himself. Tom Woloshynne, a VitaFlex therapist in Victoria B.C. has his clients do it for as long as 60-90 days. Remember also that the maple syrup and lemon juice are supposed to provide what the body needs as it goes into this " healing " state. He says he has never NOT seen a health challange correct itself on this cleanse. If one wants more information, I would suggest doing a search on Stanley Burroughs and getting his book to know exactly how it's done. Guest guest
Fasting, even for short periods, is a pretty complicated matter, and requires study. Check out the Hygienists, particularly Herbert Shelton. Dr. Gerald Benesh, a Southern Calif. hygienist, pro-fasting, pro-juicing, doctor, currently about 90 years old, with all his teeth and all his hair, who wears no glasses, and, who, until recently, practiced in Escondido, can probably be reached by phone, with questions about fasting. He may still be practicing. According to Benesh, there is no other kind of " fast, " than a water fast. Any consumption of anything that contains nourishment, such as juices, or lemonade, or watermelon, etc., is not a fast, but a sparse " diet. " I don't know if fasting is always a good idea, but I believe it's a good idea in some cases. We're all different.
