I've read that a daily serving of Metamucil is good for the added fiber.

But upon reading the label it says that anyone that has trouble

swallowing should not use this product. I understand that this product

expands but would diluting it 100% more than the instructions call for

give a single serving the consistency of cream of wheat? I ask this

because I have no problem swallowing things like cream of wheat,

oatmeal, and generally soft foods. I hesitate to use the product and was

wondering if anyone here has used it and what they think about the

additional dilution idea?

thanks,

Hi Joseph,

Get some organic flax seed, grind up a bit in a coffee grinder and take 1

tablespoon a day. Anything else is really a

waste of money.

Greg - can I do this instead of taking flax oil? I cannot stand the taste

of the oil - and maybe the texture is an issue as well.... as well as

eating oily fish of course.

Hi Tracy,

Sure, just use 1 tablespoon a day. This way the Omega 3 LNA is delivered to you

in a natural form and has not been

damaged by processing. Be sure to get organic flax as otherwise the seeds may

be treated for commercial growing use

with anti-fungals and germination agents.

Have you had a chance to check out my web site (link below)?

Flax oil easily goes rancid. Fresh ground flax seed has a nutty

taste & is good in smoothies, on salads, eaten with fruit, etc.

I have not used it personally but my dh and his mother have and love it. It

really works for them and gives them no troubles and they say it tastes well

Erin,

My husband also used it...but...I won't buy it for him. The sugar

free one has aspertain (sp) and the regular has a lot of sugar.

Additonally, it will do nothing to get to the root of the problem. A

digestive enzyme, or flax will help the body to heal the issues. For

the outrageous price, of Metamucil, I would certainly want to try

something that will heal not cover up the root problem. Now that my

hubby has to stop and pick up his own, he's complaining about the

cost.

Blessings

Francie
