Hi Ron,

Any CNOil you would recommend other than the one from the site you mentioned?

I'd like to purchase it from a HFS if I can.

Pamela,

Sorry to barge in but most of the Health Food Stores only carry an

inferior grade of coconut oil that has been refined and bleached.

The best one I have tried came from : http://www.coconutoil-

online.com It is the least processed coconut oil also. They will

also send you a sample for free with only an e-mail request.

Thanks, TK. How long have you used CNOil, how much do you use and how to you

take it?

Hi Pam,

Don't know where the other suppliers oil comes from but the ONLY truly

virgin coconut oil source that I know of comes from the Philippines and

that is coconut-info.com.

However http://www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com/ is the U.S. distributer

for the Philippine VCNO. There price is $50.00 for a gal. and that

includes shipping.

The " dosage " is 3 Tbs. per day but if you like the delicate flavor and

aroma,as I do, you will use more in omeletes, for frying, on a cracker,

spread on " Food For Life " cinnamon raisin bread with cheese (who needs

cake?) , on toast with a bit of broiled chicken breast or anyplace as a

substitute for mayo.

A bit difficult to use on salads because of the hardness at cool temps.

The shelf life is so long that a gal. is not too much to order but on

the off chance you will not care for it a smaller order is,of course up,

to you.

I really like the stuff and really feel that Philippine oil is the

genuine virgin cno.

Pamela,

I have only been using it for about a week. It tastes good so I just

use a tsp in the morning and another at lunch so far. I am

experimenting with it to see if I get any noticable effects and am

starting with a small amount. You can also check out the

coconut-info

Hope this helps

Right Pam,

If you order from either site I believe it will come from The Widerness

supplier.

When I first got this vcno it had to be sent via usps from the

Philippines but since Wildeness became the US distributor one can get it

a lot faster now.

TK also asked and I assure you that this vcno is not heated and is

processed with great care to preserve all of the natural

ingrediants.Full info at the info site.

Hi Ron,

With respect ALL coconut oil is heated as you need to reduce the moisture

content.

Coconut oil processed from copra is heated either by the sun or industrial

heaters and can result in mould growth and

the presence of the deadly aflatoxin. Wet processes, such as that used by

coconut-info use fermentation to separate out

most of the water and oil. Once the oil is drawn off, a slight amount of gentle

heat is used to drive off any lingering

moisture, but the heat is very minimal and is nothing like that applied in the

dry copra processing methods.

Absolutely right Greg,

I should have said " not cooked " -overheated.
