Guest guest
Hi all- I am looking for ideas for getting rid of panic attacks. That is what they feel like - panic/anxiety attacks. In the past higher doses of cal/mag were really working to keep them at bay. I have a mitral valve prolapse and in the past doing research and talking to both MD's and ND's learned that it is not un-common for people with a MVP to have anxiety attacks; thus the cal/mag to relax and get the heart into a better rhythm (if that makes sense). But lately they have been sooooo bad. I get that tight feeling in my chest, worse on the left side, and almost a pressure feeling too, and my throat feels tight and I cannot concentrate. Help! I am also working hard to clear up my candida and lose weight (the change in diet for the candida has helped me to feel tremendlusly better). Please send me ideas! Guest guest
As you have a heart ailment, dare I say it, the Strauss Heart Drops would be brilliant to strengthen your heart. To find out more look at their web site www.straussheartdrops.com People are put off because of expense, but I say what is a year of expense if at the end of it, your heart is heaps better and you have removed most arterial plaque, plus more energy, better oxygenation! Hope this helps Anne PS there are no fillers or binders in these drops, just pure high quality herbs in a fruit alcoholbase/ They smell lovely. - " sindea.horste " <sindea.horste <natural_ideas >; Friday, December 28, 2001 7:11 AM panic attacks- help! > Hi all- > I am looking for ideas for getting rid of panic attacks. Guest guest
Do they occur when you haven't eaten for a while? If so, try eating small, frequent high protein meals. Guest guest
There is a great new book I just finished called Tired of Being Tired by Dr. Jesse Hanley. It is about Adrenal Overload. Many of the anxiety type problems come from overstressing the adrenal gland. She gives some very good nutritional and herbal recommendations to help with anxiety and panic attacks. The foremost being to take GABA, 500mg at night for several days to see if it helps. If not , increase to 750mg. If that doesn't help you can add Phosphotidylserine, 100mg. These are very good suggestions. Hope this helps. Ken -- On Thu, 27 Dec 2001 23:11:29 sindea.horste wrote: >Hi all- >I am looking for ideas for getting rid of panic attacks. Guest guest
These are pretty standard products, not US specific. They are the only names they should go by. You can add Kava as needed to promote calm. Look for a product that has at least 30% kavalactones. You can take up to 1800mg per day for anxiety problems. Guest guest
---Good Afternoon, Try increasing your magnesium to 1,000 or more. Calcium is a muscle constrictor and magnesium a muscle relaxer as you stated. Also Hawthorne Berry and Vitamin E (1,000) mgs daily of each) might be helpful. Which candida diet are you using? Just wondering.:-) JoAnn joguest Friendsforhealthnaturally http://canceranswer.homestead.com/AIM.html In Gettingwell, " sindea.horste " <sindea.horste@v...> wrote: > Hi all- > I am looking for ideas for getting rid of panic attacks. Guest guest
---Hi! CO-Q10 is useful in various types of heart disease. Statins deplete your stores of CO-Q10 over a period of time. If deficient in CO-Q10 it might help to supplement. Doses up to 150 mgs twice daily have been implicated in reversal of all types of heart disease. COQ10 will strengthen heart muscle and pumping action. JoAnn In Gettingwell, " sindea.horste " <sindea.horste@v...> wrote: > Hi all- > I am looking for ideas for getting rid of panic attacks. Guest guest
Sindea, Try taking taurine for the anxiety you feel. I suffered from full blown panic attacks when I was 22 years old. I however went on an antidepressant for 2 years and it solved the problem. However when I turned 28 I began suffering from a severe yeast overgrowth, in which I began having extreme anxiety again. I felt like I was going to die any minute. However the antidepressant didn't make it go away totally. Fighting a yeast battle is different than fighting with a chemical imbalance. However I wanted off of this antidepressant because it made me constipated. I tried taking taurine-an amino acid. I took this because it was suggested to me that it would help reduce estrogen in my body. But to my surprise, all of my anxiety went away! I wasn't expecting this at all. But since I have been reading about how different amino acids are used to treat depression also. I bought my taurine at GNC store.
