Dr. Wong said something like that about prozac. People who take it sometimes commit murder and suicide because their serotonin, which is made from tryptophan, is worn out from being used over and over instead of being replaced with fresh all the time. He calls supplementation with tryp, copper and folate " fresh prozac " .
Guest guest
Tryptophan was nutrition's superstar, the dietary David that single-handedly took on the lucrative Goliath-like market of sedatives, tranquilizers, and antidepressants. But, to the pharmaceutical industry, this marvelously effective, remarkably SAFE, and freely available nutrient threatened to be a billion-dollar pain the the balance sheet. Industry moguls must have privately wished for tryptophan to be discredited. So, after an improbable event (a SINGLE contaminated Japanese batch), it was: scandalized, tried, convicted, and banished by the very government agency, the FDA, entrusted to police -not to enrich- the pharmaceutical business. Prohibiting the use of trytophan, in fact, presents a more dangerous scenario for ppl who take pure crystalline amino acid formulas. These forms upset the body's amino acid balance by forcing a drop in blood levels of tryptophan, which can exacerbate symptoms of prementrual tension. The imbalance created by taking these tryptophan-free supplements can also increase anger, annoyance, and other indictors of aggresion and hostility. Guest guest
Yes, Starris, the use of psychotropic drugs can cause aggressive behavior. Did you know that Eric Harris, one of the two teenage killers in the Columbine High School massacre at Littleton, Colorado, was on Luvox, an anti-depressant (*legally* prescribed)? Dr. Jodi Worrel of the Western Missouri Mental Health Centre states, " child and adolescent data suggest worsening of aggression " if drugs like Luvox are used. This is further confirmed by research carried out at the Hadassah-Hebrew University School of Medicine in Jerusalem and published in 1993 under the title, Annals of Pharmacology: Fluvoxamine-associated Manic Behaviour. Guest guest
The danger seems to be during " withdrawal " . Children withdrawing from Ritalin are sometimes suicidal. _____________ Get the FREE email that has everyone talking at http://www.mail2world.com <> > > Starrisg > 12/23/2001 7:01:42 PM > Gettingwell > Re: Replacing Prozac/Trytophan > > > > > > In a message dated 12/23/01 3:48:29 PM Pacific Standard Time, > > southallp writes: > > > > > The imbalance created by taking these tryptophan-free supplements can also > > > increase anger, annoyance, and other indictors of aggresion and hostility. > > > > Dr. Wong said something like that about prozac.
