Guest guest
Hello John P. John, Forgive me for carrying on about this and Please consider the following: Perhaps Dr. Budwig has common sense. She may be pragmatic! Maybe she grew up in an era when one ate what was on the table and that included Cottage Cheese. (I did, or went hungry) When she need a particular catalyst for the Flaxseed Oil; Cottage Cheese turned up first. So instead of going off in all directions looking for hundreds of other catalysts to satisfy the whims of as yet unborn eaters she left it with the Cottage Cheese and spent her energies on further bloodwork studies her specialty. I bet there are a lot of Americans that would lose a lot of weight if they suddenly were faced with what I got to eat before WWII. Same thing if they had to eat what Dr. Budwig was eating in the 1950's. Because they would be served plain foods and nutritious foods like liver and would not get much white foods, so they would get skinny before they learned to eat the cabbage, turnips and other foods without additives and sugar. Please read all the stuff on the net about Dr. Budwig and or buy her books, or get them from your library; Then in place of being " at a loss to understand what this preoccupation with cottage cheese is! " You may find that she allows some other stuff besides Cottage Cheese. >What would be the problem in substituting for the cc?> No Problem unless you have Cancer! Then no problem if unless getting rid of your Cancer you wish to conduct a one person experiment. In the meantime those with Cancer should stick with Cottage Cheese. If no Cancer---One could do what I do: Use Flaxseed, Grind it fresh Dailey. and consume several Tablespoons a day. And Eat Canned Salmon from Alaska. The Cancer people could eat that same Salmon- Pink or Red with Alaska on the lid; It contains similar but slightly different Oils than Flaxseed. Fresh Salmon may not have them as it is raised on a form on non-natural for Salmon food. That and Garlic and Coconut Oil and my Blood Pressure is staying below 140/80, I am 75, eat meat, I work and I fish. I have a mild heart murmur and mild RBBB. I try to follow the Cave man diet. I do have skin Cancer but I keep it in check with Vitamin C. I was in Germany for three years, 46, 47 and 48. The diet there is/was not all that complicated and Cottage Cheese was common. Did you see my post about " Schiller " ( A well known German Philosopher) seeking Cottage Cheese as a treat before the age of Ice Cream? Also Cottage Cheese tasted better in the USA before the foolish saturated fat scare! They sold " Creamed Cottage Cheese " some years ago! Why can't Budwig be suggesting the use of cottage cheese because she likes the way it tastes, and just happens to also view it as a good medium in which to mix flax oil? There's nothing mysterious about cottage cheese; it contains no occult or magic ingredients. I assume that cc is used because it contains well known ingredients that aid in the utilization and/or digestion, etc., of the FO. If these nutrients can be found in some other food(s), what would be the problem in substituting it for the cc? --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
